Can I use the Internet receipt I print on my computer for travel?

When ordering your tickets on this website and choosing the terminal pickup option, it is important that you bring the receipt to a ticket agent to have it exchanged for an actual ticket. If you purchased your online ticket using another website, please check with the ticket agent prior to boarding.

If you selected E-ticket Print At Home or a Curbside Express ticket you must print the boarding pass to be able to board the bus. Boarding passes can be reprinted by you if you have issues with printing. You will receive a link in the confirmation email you received from us to access the page to print your tickets.

May I bring food and drink on board the bus?

Yes, food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed on the bus, as long as they are in proper containers. Glass bottles are prohibited. Driver may ask to inspect coolers prior to boarding. Please be sure to remove your litter when you leave the coach.

Do I need reservations?

In the industry most schedules are first come, first serve. However, Martz offers some reservation options; please click the RESERVATIONS tab to learn more.

May I use a Greyhound or other bus company ticket on a Martz bus?

Yes, we honor most tickets written by other bus companies including Greyhound, with some exceptions please see the Ticket Agent before boarding.

May I bring my pet with me?

Sorry, no pets. The only animals that are allowed on the bus are canine service animals specifically trained to aid individuals with a disability.

How many pieces of baggage can I take?

On Martz schedules, you can place 2 pieces of luggage underneath the bus per adult ticket and 1 piece per child ticket as well as one carry-on. All luggage must have an identification tag affixed which should include your name and telephone number. Passengers will be charged an excess baggage fee of $35.00 for each additional bag.

Oversized (exterior dimensions over 62 inches adding length + width + height) and Overweight bags (over 50lbs) must be sent via Package Express, shipping charges will apply (averaging $35 each). Bicycles, skis, etc. must be packed in wood, canvas or other substantial container and securely fastened. When traveling Greyhound, Fullington or Bieber schedules, passengers are permitted one (1) piece of luggage before excess baggage charges will apply, visit Greyhound’s website for more information.

May I play my CD player or use my laptop computer on the bus?

Yes, music devices and other electronic equipment are welcome on the bus when used courteously with other travelers. Music devices must be used with headphones and played at a low enough volume so as not to disturb other passengers or distract the bus driver. This is simply a matter of common courtesy that we must enforce for the comfort and safety of other passengers and the bus driver.

May I use my cell phone while traveling on the bus?

Yes, but as a courtesy to other passengers, we prefer that you do not use your cell phone while traveling on the coach. Your cellphone should be set to vibrate. If you must use your cell phone, please limit your use to brief necessary calls only, and use it in a manner that does not interfere with other passengers or create a distraction for our driver. If your cell phone use disturbs other passengers or the driver, or if your cell phone continues to ring, the driver may ask you to turn off your cell phone. It is our goal to provide all of our passengers with the ability to rest comfortably and enjoy a safe and quiet ride while traveling with Trailways.

Is smoking allowed on buses?

No. Federal law does not permit smoking on buses.

How long are tickets good for?

Generally, one-way tickets are good for ninety days, and round-trip tickets are good for one year from the date of purchase. However, some specially priced tickets are valid for different lengths of time, and are marked or sold accordingly. Be sure and ask agents for special fares before you purchase your tickets.

Are there group rates for tickets?

May I get a refund on my ticket?

In most cases the answer is yes. Refunds are based on the value of the unused portion of the ticket. However, some tickets are not refundable and are clearly marked “No Refund”. Please note that only tickets bearing our company name will be considered for a refund by our Refund Department. For additional information, please see our “Refund Policies” under the ABOUT tab. What are your Refund Policies?

Wholly or partially unused tickets may be refunded by mail, to the Refund Department at our corporate office. Only original tickets (no copies) will be considered and the request must be made by the original purchaser of the ticket. When you mail us your ticket, you should insure the envelope with the United States Postal Service for the value of the ticket to be refunded; we will not be responsible for lost mail. Refund values will be determined as follows:

Wholly unused tickets, or partially unused tickets, that are eligible for a refund and have not been presented and used for transportation, will be refunded at the purchase price paid.

Tickets that are eligible for a refund will remain eligible for up to one year from the date of expiration. No refund will be issued for tickets that exceed one year from the date of expiration. Tickets that are non-refundable are clearly marked “No Refund” and therefore are not eligible for refund.

Refund Policy on Multi-Ride/Commuter Tickets Refunding Multi-Ride/Commuter tickets results in losing the discount that was applied for the multi-ticket book purchase. Refunds are made by, first, subtracting the full-fare value (not the discounted value) of the tickets used, from the cost of the multi-ride ticket book. At times this will result in no refund value for partially used multi-ride ticket books.

Why can't I find the city that I am looking for on your website?

Do I have to buy a ticket for my small child?

Children who have not reached their second birthday will be carried free when not occupying a seat. Children 2yrs old to 11yrs old (those that haven’t reached their 12th birthday) will be charged half fare when traveling with an adult paying full-fare. Up to three (3) children may accompany an adult at half fare.

How old do you have to be to travel without an adult?

Martz reserves the right to refuse tickets and/or boarding, if a minor traveling without an adult cannot provide ID to verify minimum age of 16 years old. Martz will allow minors that are at least 15 years old to travel without a parent if he/she is an official member of the Martz Student Discount Program. Does Martz Offer Student Discounts?

You can enroll in Martz Student Discount Program if you are a College or High School Students to receive 25% off Martz full-fare tickets. Membership applications must include driver’s license and photo college ID. High school members must be at least 15yrs old, 2 forms of ID and parent authorization is required. Membership applications and discounted tickets are only available at official Martz locations. Annual membership fee is $20.00. Greyhound requires students to be a member of the Student Advantage, see their website for more details.

How reliable are the schedules?

All schedules are issued for the convenience of the public. While Martz and all connecting companies endeavor to maintain schedules shown, these schedules are not guaranteed and are subject to change without notice. Times shown are approximate and are intended for information purposes only. Schedule times may vary due to traffic, time of day and road conditions.

Can I buy a ticket from the driver?

Customers may purchase a one way FULL FARE ticket from the driver in the event the bus station or ticket counter is closed at the time of departure. Customers are required to have exact change. Drivers do not carry change.

Does Martz offer Senior Citizen Discount?

Yes, seniors that have ID verifying they are at least 62yrs old will receive 12% off Martz full-fare tickets. Seniors traveling between Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, travel for free!

Does Martz off Military Discounts?

Yes, active military personnel with valid ID receive 10% off Martz full-fare tickets.

Does Martz offer a Discount for Disabled Travelers?

No there is no discount for disabled travelers. However, if anyone needs assistance to travel, i.e. cannot travel alone for whatever reason, Martz does offer Personal Care Attendant (PCA) discount. The disabled traveler purchases a full-fare ticket and the person assisting purchases a ticket at 50% off. Simply ask your Martz Agent for the Personal Care Attendant (PCA) rate. Sometimes our party specials and day trip specials might be an even better option, speak with an Agent to find out which will work best for your travel needs.

Can a person be denied travel?

Yes, Martz reserves the right to refuse to transport a person under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs or who is incapable of taking care of him/herself, or whose conduct is such or likely to be such as to make him or her objectionable to other passengers or prospective passengers, or who refuses to comply with any lawful rule or regulation of the carrier. Such persons may be removed from the bus at any usual stopping place or at such other place as the driver may select. In event of such removal, the liability of the carrier shall not exceed the amount of the excess fare paid by the passenger.

Exception: This rule does not apply to persons who are ill and accompanied by an attendant or nurse.

Am I required to wear a seat belt on the coaches that have them?

Although not required by law, Martz strongly recommends wearing the seatbelts on the coaches that provide them.
